ME.
Back in 2019 after a few jokes from my young nieces about my belly size. I decided to get on the scales and was shocked to find that I weighed at least 20stone, I don’t know exactly how much I weighed as they where only rated for 20stone. So I thought I need to do something about this and become a better role model for them. A work colleague suggested starting running, I have never been athletic and had never run. So in May 2019 we went for a run, to start with I couldn’t run for more than 1 minute straight. Recently I just completed a 16km run the furthest I have gone so far.
WHAT DO I WANT TO ACHIEVE?
A fitter and thinner me. Eventually I want to get my running distance up to a half marathon.
WHAT CHANGES AM I MAKING?
I am changing what I eat and more importantly how much. I am becoming more active as my job is desk based, I have started walking again as well as running.
MY PLAN FOR 2021 AND BEYOND.
Mainly virtual events at the moment but the first is to complete 650miles running/walking in a year. Take on a few of the conqueror events but only logging the miles running. Once again do the ABF Operation Bletchley events in July already signed up for Cairo(30miles) but intended to add the Paris(100miles)once the first is complete. Then in October my first real event since the start of the pandemic Run Silverstone to see if I can beat my 10km time from 2019.
MY PERSONAL PROMISE.
I am now 49 so to complete a half marathon by or in my 50 year.
