This project is about reaching as many people as possible, to help them become the best version of themselves. It is not about being the fittest, the fastest or the strongest, it’s about ‘setting your own bar!’ It is an open platform to be inspired and inspiring, by helping others on their respective journeys and providing a non-judgemental positive environment that allows individuals to grow and go always a little further.
In addition to the community aspect of the Be a Black Sheep project, it was created to embrace the original legacy of The 100 Peaks Challenge to pay tribute to a special man and continue to support military charities.

Live by an ethos! When we first created this project it was very much born of the greater legacy that the 100 Peaks Challenge created, the impact it had on individuals. It created a community that was determined to make a difference in their lives, purely from the example the Challenge Team set. For us that was recognised as our greatest asset, we wanted to capture that and help people recognise that we can all improve ourselves and even better still, impact positively on the lives of those around us. We need to not only live by that ethos, but spread it, be a force of good and help other people excel.
Lloydy was killed in action in 2011, he lived his life in a way that meant he focused on what he wanted to achieve and every day he was driven to get there. Ultimately, he gave his life doing what he loved.
The lesson; life is a gift and the greatest tribute we can ever pay to those no longer with us, is to be the best that we can be and live life to the fullest. For them, ourselves and those we care about. As such, this project was created to give people that platform, to step outside their comfort zones and in doing so help us pay it forward, both in support of others (in improving themselves and achieving their aspirations) and charities.
The goal, when we set out on this journey was to build a community of 100 like minded people, to capture the essence of what it means to be human and to raise £100k. The reality is there is no limit to either of those ambitions and we’re driven to keep pushing that bar higher.
