ME.
Some 9 years ago In my mid 40s I realised that I didn't want to be overweight, always tired, unmotivated and probably heading for an early heart attack. fortunately I was inspired to get fit though a meeting with Floyd Woodrow, ex SAS. That started my long term attendance at the local British Military Fitness sessions, then entering trail running events, a couple of Paras 10, a half marathon and a winter Fan Dance in 2016. I backed off during 2017 due to some niggly injuries and have now set my sights on getting back on track in 2018.
WHAT DO I WANT TO ACHIEVE?
My aim for 2018 is to significantly improve my personal bests for the Paras 10 (2hrs 6min) and Half Marathon (2hrs 2mins), I'm setting my sights on 1 hour 54 minutes for both. Why 54? Because that's how old I am this year.
MY PLAN FOR 2018 AND BEYOND.
I'm getting back to BMF more frequently and adding more clean fatigue running in to improve endurance and speed. I'm also working on a gym based strengthening programme. One of the local BMF centres is also running 8 weeks of Combat Fitness Test sessions during March & April which will be great TABing practice. Along the way I've entered a 10K Trail run in March, local 8mile Fun Run in June, multiple 10k's at the Thunder Run 24hours in July and then I can concentrate on Paras 10 at Catterick in Sept, followed by the Birmingham Half in Oct. If all goes well, another crack at the winter Fan dance in 2019 is in my thoughts. I have a need to better my Winter 2016 time. AND of course with the surname Lamb, being a black sheep is almost instinctive!
