ME.
Father and family man who turned 50 this year - Keen mountaineer since my early 20s - Spends way too much time chained to a desk and screen.
I went through a very nasty divorce a little over 10 years ago and was a single parent for a little while. I remarried to an amazing woman and had two beautiful daughters. In that time my whole focus has been the emotional and financial stability of my family. My own interests have understandably had to be at the back of the coach all this time. I then lost my Dad to pancreatic cancer in 2018 and accidentally discovered the Paras'10 as a way to raise some money in his name as he was an ex-Para himself.
Getting into tabbing has changed my life. It has given me a focus and targets I never knew I needed, and it really feels like it keeps me sane at times. I spend way too much time chained to a desk and screen through work that I don't get out as much as I would like or should.
WHAT DO I WANT TO ACHIEVE?
To be the fittest I have ever been and to be an example to my kids that if you want to be a better you then do it - It's completely in your hands.
WHAT CHANGES AM I MAKING?
To CF and Tab more regularly.
To support others through encouraging friends and family to get into the hills (or just outdoors more.
To support the GT family by providing encouragement on events and to their posts.
MY PLAN FOR 2021 AND BEYOND.
All the Paras'10 events this year and to get below 2 hours for the TAB
Summer Fan Dance
Anything else I can squeeze in around family commitments.
MY PERSONAL PROMISE.
Maintaining my own physical and positive mental health will help me to support my family, friends and the tabbing community to the best of my ability.
