ME.
I am (reluctantly) in middle age and a keen runner. In 2006 I walked across a inspection pit (short cut) and broke my knee in two places. It took me years to recover. I was born in a pit village near Arthur Scargill, but went on to university. I firmly believe that you cannot help the hand you are dealt but its up to you to make the best of it....
WHAT DO I WANT TO ACHIEVE?
Difficult to ascertain, but always a little further....
WHAT CHANGES AM I MAKING?
I am upping my running speed gradually but not phased by events. I have learned that mental attitude more important than fitness so not thrashing myself too much.....
MY PLAN FOR 2018 AND BEYOND.
Fan dance back to back summer 2018, then all of the test marches then 'retire' to cycling/marathon running
MY PERSONAL PROMISE.
If you want advice please ask. I got so much support from 100 Peaks (Black Sheep predecessor). I will have off days but that does not matter. Sometimes you run past people on the mountain and other days they run past you, accept it and accept we are not perfect and sometimes have off days......Don't push a bad position 'Top Gun' But remember, 'whilst you are staring at the Sun, the shadows always fall behind you' @ my business manager Gabs :)
