Police Officer of 21 years. Always kept reasonably fit. Married and proud Father of two. Three dogs. Live in Wark’s.
Had a bit of a meltdown last year re work and was off with anxiety/depression.
Got myself together again slowly. Started training together with a couple of mates who had been through similar. One an Ex Royal Marine so we started ‘Yomping’ building up the mileage and weight, chatting lots, getting stuff off our chests. Training for the COPS 30 miler, a collaboration between RM and COPs charities. I’ve raised about a grand and the events just been cancelled. Need to find a new focus for the sponsors but also for me and the boys.
WHAT DO I WANT TO ACHIEVE?
A similar length event to work towards and complete.
Kick on afterwards to something else, maybe longer, different.
Keep moving forward. Keep talking.
WHAT CHANGES AM I MAKING?
Being more honest with myself, wife, mates early doors before the shit builds up. Started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Very ‘in the moment’. Changed roles at work to put family (and me) first.

Maybe do a 100 mile ultra next year.
